Abstract

Traditional project performance dashboards provide executives with retrospective information on cost, schedule, and risk performance; however, they often lack predictive capabilities and governance mechanisms necessary for complex project environments. This study examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled dashboards can enhance executive project governance through predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and decision intelligence. The research explores the integration of AI-driven dashboard capabilities with the PMI-CPMAI framework to improve transparency, accountability, and decision quality. The study aims to identify the limitations of conventional dashboards, investigate the value of AI-based insights, and map governance requirements to CPMAI lifecycle stages. The outcome is a conceptual framework that supports the effective and responsible use of AI-enabled dashboards in executive project governance and strategic decision-making.
